Body without Organs

This collection of work was made by Lee when she had substance-induced psychosis in 2018. She had an episode in 2016 in Glasgow. On the written document, it was a result of class A drugs causing an organic psychosis, and relapsed in 2018 when the psychiatrist stopped the prescription medication. The title ‘Body without Organs’ is borrowed from Deleuze and Guattari’s concept in sociology, which describes the unregulated potential before structure. It also references a type of bizarre delusion, Cotard’s Syndrome variant, in which the patient believes their organs have been replaced or are missing without their knowledge. What is the interplay between the biological and the social dichotomy of mental health?

Diary entry in 2019. Lee suffers from long-term anhedonia as a side effect from medication.
