This series of work explores the existentialism that comes with being aware that oneself is separate from others, and that the true image of one’s appearance cannot be seen by the self: a sense of wholeness feels somewhat illusionary and inadequately represented by social media. These were made during the pandemic (2020-21), so the disconnection was emphasised during lockdowns and lack of human contact. It’s interesting how this series feels disjointed from the art and science methodology.
